Why It Matters
This isn’t about charity. It’s about equity, energy, and cultural change — and we need everyone in on it. Whether you’re a youth leader, mountain partner, donor, or just someone who believes in what winter can do, there’s a lane for you.
Do I qualify for a grant?
To qualify for a Share Winter Grant, programs must meet the following criteria:
Program Requirements
- Be a learn-to-ski or learn-to-snowboard program for youth ages 12–18.
(We do not fund racing, elite coaching, or competitive programs.) - Host at least 4 program days per season. Each participant should attend a minimum of four sessions — we recommend planning for five or more to ensure consistency.
- Collect registration forms, and track attendance and skill progress throughout the season.
- Actively recruit youth from diverse backgrounds, including economic, ethnic, and gender diversity.
- Have at least 25 participants and three years of established programming.
- Have three years of program data available.
- Maintain an established mountain or trail partner.
Funding Priorities
Share Winter provides additional consideration and support to programs that:
- Serve a minimum of 25% youth participants identifying as non-white, and/or
- Serve a minimum of 30% youth participants qualifying for the National Free and Reduced Lunch Program, or reporting a household income under $50,000.
